How to Use Camperstop Europe:
The Camperstop maps have been updated for this 16th edition.
The 42 maps are still located at the beginning of the guide.
In the guide, rest stops/stages/stopovers are marked with a red dot next to the name of the nearest city. These areas can be found in the alphabetical index or in the regional sections for each country.
The list of areas can be found in the index next to the maps or in the alphabetical index at the back of the book.
Both indexes include symbols next to the city name to indicate the type of area.
Information is provided for each country regarding driving regulations, traffic signs, emergency numbers, currency, and some parking rules.
Format
The guide's format lists the street name and GPS coordinates in decimal format:N31.36297 W5.01915.
This is followed by brief instructions, such as: "Parking at Marina or Parking next to the bus parking lot."
This is followed by opening hours, available spaces, prices, and available services; the latter are identified by symbols.
Additional information
Many of the sections in the guide also provide information on points of interest for tourists, such as museums, markets, landmark buildings, etc. At the same time, you can find general descriptions of the city or the area where the location is situated: “modern port city,” “seaside resort with a casino,” or “ski slopes.”
"Tolerated" overnight parking areas
The guide explains that: "In some countries, there is the concept of 'tolerated' parking areas. This means that parking or staying overnight is officially prohibited, but for some reason, it is being tolerated by local authorities.
As long as camping equipment (tables, chairs, grills, etc.) is kept within the motorhome and you do not park in any area where violations have been reported or that contravenes any laws, it is unlikely that you will be bothered. Problems arise when a large number of motorhomes users utilize or choose these “unofficial” spots at the same time and/or in an unreasonable manner.
