Vinya Els Vilars: Tradition, Sustainability, and Wine Tourism in Costers del Segre

A family-run business in the heart of Arbeca

Set against the backdrop of Arbeca, in the province of Lleida, lies Vinya Els Vilars, a winery born of a deep connection to the land and a passion for crafting wines with their own distinct character. Under the umbrella of the Costers del Segre Designation of Origin, this winery seeks a balance between technical innovation and respect for traditional methods. It is a family-run project where sustainability is understood as a natural part of the process, prioritizing care for the environment and the development of the Les Garrigues region.

Work in the vineyard: A reflection of the land

For the team at Vinya Els Vilars, the quality of the wine begins in the vineyard itself. That is why they employ responsible farming practices that protect local biodiversity and respect the cycles of nature. Each harvest is the result of the daily effort, patience, and dedication of a team that takes pride in their craft. Thanks to this care, every bottle honestly conveys the character of its soils, its climate, and the care that has been dedicated to it throughout the year.

Open Doors to Tourism on Wheels

When motorhome tourism began to establish itself as a fantastic way to discover the countryside and its cuisine, Vinya Els Vilars firmly embraced this trend. Recognizing that these travelers seek authentic, intimate experiences, the winery decided to open its doors and adapt its facilities. Thus, they set up parking spaces and specific amenities to offer a comfortable, safe, and attractive stopover for those who wish to explore the region at a leisurely pace.

A new measure to ensure the quality of care

Hospitality has always been a hallmark of this place, thanks to the dedication of María José, Antonio, and Gerard, the owners, who have always welcomed visitors with open arms. However, for some time now, the misuse of the facilities by certain guests—who used the space exclusively for dumping wastewater or took advantage of the free stay without showing any interest in the winery’s activities—has made it necessary to change how access is managed.

To preserve the tranquility of the surroundings, ensure the proper maintenance of facilities, and guarantee that all guests receive the attention they deserve, the family has decided to install an access control gate. From now on, a small fee will be charged to enter the premises. However, this amount will be fully credited toward any wine purchases made during your visit.

This measure is intended to ensure fairness: parking and services will continue to be available to travelers who come specifically to enjoy wine tourism, learn about the project, and support local businesses. We trust you will understand this decision, which is aimed solely at protecting the space and maintaining the quality of the hospitality that María José, Antonio, and Gerard provide every day.
