Extra-virgin olive oil, wine, and nature. An eco-friendly stop among ancient olive trees

In a quiet corner of the Tarragona countryside, surrounded by mountains, country roads, and the sounds of nature, lies Biopaumerà, a family-run estate dedicated to the organic cultivation of grapevines and olive trees. The surroundings, dotted with dry-stone walls and centuries-old fields, retain the charm of the traditional Mediterranean landscape. Olive trees of the following varieties grow here: Farga and Arbequina, some of which are over a thousand years old—true agricultural treasures that continue to bear fruit generation after generation.

Organic extra virgin olive oil with a rich history

The extra virgin olive oil produced at this stop is the result of a traditional process that respects the natural rhythm of the olive tree. Local varieties such as Farga, Reguers (or Morruda) and Arbequina, all certified organic. Each variety offers unique characteristics: the Farga has a balanced and robust flavor, the Arbequina brings smoothness and fruity aromas, and the Morruda adds subtle bitter notes that enhance the overall character.

Extra virgin olive oil is available in various sizes and varieties to suit different needs. From 500-ml bottles—ideal for home use or as gifts—to 2- and 5-liter jugs for those who want to enjoy pure olive oil all year round. Each bottle reflects the quality of the fruit and the care taken in working the land: olives harvested by hand, cold-pressed, and free from chemical treatments. The result is an organic extra virgin olive oil with an intense, green flavor and a fresh hint of almond.

Wines with a Mediterranean identity

In addition to extra virgin olive oil, this winery also produces organic wines under the Tarragona Designation of Origin, using Garnacha Tinta and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The vineyards cover about two hectares and are cultivated with the same care and sustainable principles as the olive groves. Production is limited, and each wine reflects the character of the environment: stony soils, a mild climate, and manual labor throughout the winemaking process.

Some of the standout wines:

Blanc de Noirs, an organic white wine made from Garnacha Tinta and aged on the lees.
Iuvenis, a young red wine made from Garnacha Tinta and Cabernet Sauvignon, fresh and fruity.
Solus, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, with no added sulfites and a more intense character.
Adrià, a red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha Tinta, aged in oak barrels.
Helga, an organic sparkling wine (blanc de noirs) made from Garnacha Tinta.
