A visual journey to Valence and its surroundings to discover the elements of its essence. A book for children, but also a work of artistic, educational and touristic interest. "Ecosistemas, València" is an illustrated album with all the magic of a "Wimmelbuch" and the richness that comes from looking beyond the walls of the city and nature on stage.

But what is a "Wimmelbuch"? Wimmelbuchs are a type of illustration book of German origin which has a long tradition in Germany, but which is still little known in Spain. It is a children's book in laminated cardboard (600gr) in which different parts of the city are represented, while you accompany the characters that appear on each page. They do not have any words or stories prefixed, which allows an open, original and multilingual reading, while children enjoy and learn by recognizing parts of their city.

The editors: "And what makes our "Wimmelbuch" so different and so special? Since we started to elaborate the content of the book, we realized that for us, our Valencia was much more than just buildings and emblematic places. In fact, many of our favorite places were a little further away than the walls themselves. That is why we have decided to broaden our view and to represent not only the city (Ciutat Vella), but also the different ecosystems that surround it and that, in a certain way, feed or nourish the city itself: the marshy garden, its arrival to the sea (port-marina), the Albufera nature reserve or the old river bed, today transformed into a park and which crosses the whole city".

A book for the little ones and the less little ones We have carried out a participatory research process by contacting the key actors of each place in order to identify the elements related to the essence of each place (flora and fauna, historical, ecological, social or cultural elements that, according to us, can enrich the different readings of the book, historical, ecological, social or cultural elements) which, according to us, can enrich the different readings of the book, making it not only a book for children, but also a work of interest both educational and touristic".
